Planned Parenthood is celebrating after President Joe Biden nominated another abortion activist to his administration, this time to the Office of Global Women’s Issues in the U.S. Department of State.

His nominee, Geeta Rao Gupta, has spent years advocating for abortion across the globe while working for powerful groups like the United Nations and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, according to C-Fam. She is described as a gender and development expert.

After the White House announcement, Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson praised Gupta’s nomination, saying she will “play a key role” in advocating for “sexual and reproductive health and rights across U.S. foreign policies.”

This includes taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.

“In recent years, women, girls and the LGBTQ+ community around the world have been disproportionately affected by harmful policies like the global gag rule,” Johnson said, referring to a Trump administration rule that defunded Planned Parenthood’s international arm. Biden rescinded the rule soon after taking office.

If the U.S. Senate confirms her, Gupta’s work in the Biden administration almost certainly would include putting political pressure other countries to legalize the killing of unborn babies in abortions as well. It’s something she has been doing for years anyway through her work in other powerful organizations.

In 2019, Gupta co-wrote an article in “The Lancet,” a prestigious medical journal, encouraging countries to end “toxic masculinities” and legalize abortion on demand.

Here’s more from C-Fam:

Established in 2009 under President Obama, the Office of Global Women’s Issues is known to partner with abortion groups overseas. The programs it promotes depend largely on the policy direction of the U.S. President and Secretary of State. Under President Trump’s leadership, the office avoided abortion by focusing on women’s economic advancement through skill training for women who wanted to enter the workforce and entrepreneurial assistance for small business owners.

Even though it has no legislative mandate, Congress appropriates funds for the office. The Biden administration has asked that the $200M appropriated for economic advancement be reclassified for gender equality programming.

Gupta’s previous work includes leadership roles at the pro-abortion International Center for Research on Women, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and UNICEF.

Biden has been filling his administration with radical abortion activists, including lawyers who want to send pro-lifers to jail for exposing Planned Parenthood’s aborted baby body parts trade. Last December, the CEO of Planned Parenthood bragged openly about her strong influence in staffing the Biden administration.
